The Team took to the farm this month, building a cold room in Brightview for a tomato farm.
The coldroom was constructed on an existing concrete slab, located in the sorting shed & built using 100mm panel to combat the high and low ambient temperatures likely to be reached in the country side setting.
As with most produce rooms, the type of produce & volumes of produce planned to go into a cold room will determine the engineering of the refrigeration. Tomatoes require a +10 degrees room to ensure the flavour compounds do not break down. Below are progress shots & the finished product.
